Salmon Supplementation

In partnership with the State and with the dedicated work of hundreds of volunteers the HCSEG has released 2.5 million fish.  The fish species released include: Coho, Summer Chum, Fall Chum, Chinook and Steelhead.  We have also dispersed over 35,000 salmon carcasses supplementing nutrients to the aquatic and terrestrial habitat ecosystems.  To learn more about current and completed Wild Salmon recovery projects click the links below.

A 16-year study and supplementation project to rebuild steelhead populations in Hood Canal while testing the effects of hatchery supplementation on natural popultations.
The Union River/ Tahuya River Supplementation Project is a special Wild Salmon recovery effort with hopes to bring back an extinct salmon population by using stocks from another river within its watershed.
Deleloped by Jerry Manual to provide a light, portable and easily maintainable system to incubate fertilized salmon eggs. RSI's are available for sale from HCSEG.
